Eastern Styria-Tour

„Discover Eastern Styria“ says the website of the Styrian tourism agency… and although i was born here and lived almost my whole life in Eastern Styria i still discover new places and ways to go. Its a small country but very versatile, with its hills and valleys, small villages and little towns…
I started my tour in Kaindorf, near Hartberg. My aim was Waltersdorf, about 15 kilometers south. The roads were good but sometimes too steep to ride, so i had to walk too. Because they are so small and only used by tractors or local neighbours, traffic was very less. I reached Waltersdorf very fast so i went on to Bad Blumau, then Bierbaum… and so on. Three hours and 40 kilometers later i ended up in Altenmarkt and met Manfred Glettler who owns a nice bicycle collection… and a lot of other collectibles. Manfred is an obsessed collector of nice things from former days, sewing machines, cards, motorcycles, etc.
After visitig his small museum i went on to Grosswilfersdorf and finished my tour at the Buschenschank Heinrich. „Buschenschank“ is the name of local wine taverns in Eastern Styria, famous for good meals and wine and cheap prices.
